Tested on 1.2-rc6:
I'm not sure whether this bug should be marked as invalid or not.
There was a discussion whether Skype crashes at _installation_ or not. Skype
does not crash at installation for me - so technically this bug is invalid.
The problem is that I think Austin ticked off the option "Launch Skype after
installation" while Jaime did not. The crash only occurs when this option is
ticked, and the error I get is the exact same as when I try to run Skype
afterwards so this suggests the error is really because Skype is trying to
start _after_ installation.
The window saying you have installed Skype successfully does appear when the
launch option is not ticked so the installer works like it does on Windows in
that context.

Conclusion: the installer works fine, but Skype itself crashes when started.
