Sorry, I'm quite new to Ubuntu (+ really fascinated with it), and just
installed the latest stable release (1. something). I now got 1.2-rc7 and the
setup works fine (except some Menu items which could not be created).

That's interesting. With real Windows (XP + Vista) it only works executing it
with a Windows 2000 environment.
Thanks a lot and all the best for the future of WINE, that's really a
fascinating project. It truly helps me to get rid of Windows Vista, which I did
not miss for a second after a few days with Ubuntu..
