I did some testing, and after patch 16, stuff crashed again.

However..

I compiled wine from ubuntu 32 bits, using the patch for the blank screen with
cursor bug, and did make install from my arch linux 64 bits.. And it's working.
It took ages to download the maps, but I got the same problem with ubuntu,
which is running sc2 perfectly now.

I'll do some further testing tomorrow.
