I have tried both the FreeBSD port packages and a compile from source from
WineHQ with similar problems. First of all, FreeBSDs port should include by
default all of the recommended dependancies to make sure everything that might
be needed is there. Ive had trouble finding out if the wine binary has
font-config compiled in or not or what has been included with the binary. Since
this problem includes images I do not think it is font config anyway. there
should be a flag for compile with all of the recommended dependancies and fail
if they cannot be found.

As for the mangled graphics, I am going to try to compile Wine 1.2 and see what
results i get with the new version.
