I am receiving the same error.
Only similar hardware is that I have an nvidia card as well.
Wine 1.2 && 1.2_rc5 (tested)

When I was on 1.2_rc5 everything worked originally, but once I upgraded to 1.2
the problem started occurring. I have tried native dlls, reinstalling, and a
complete rebuild (not from scratch, just emerge -eav world) of gentoo. I have
since backed off to rc5 and the issue is still there.
