I'm using Wine 1.2 and I've had this issue as well using the default rendering
mode (fbo IIRC). After looking around the web I found two solutions:
1. Modify settings.txt in the game's directory and set the native screen
resolution. This one works for me.
2. Set up a virtual desktop with winecfg. Others report this to work, but I
haven't tried it myself.
