use "WINEDEBUG=+midi,+mci,+mcimidi" 

your midi file has more than 16 tracks

trace:mcimidi:MIDI_mciReadMTrk Track 16 has 660 bytes and 113177 pulses
trace:mcimidi:MIDI_mciReadMTrk Track 17 has 9 bytes and 0 pulses
