Attempting to initiate via terminal with log creation

I moved a copy of the QW09R7Patch.exe to
'\home\taurus\.wine\dosdevices\c:\Program Files\Quicken\Patches\QW09R7Patch.exe
&> log.txt' to shorten the path name from the disk it was originally on, but
the log file fails to be created. It's now complaining about the execute flags.
