I'm not sure how applicable this is, but I've tried running it under VirtualBox
3.2.4 with WineD3D. PSOBB crashed at the exact same time as it does when
running under Wine in Ubuntu 10.04 (x64-bit) In the error report I've notice
something that might be interesting:

...
Module 52
map_city_on_j_u.bin
...

I couldn't copy the full error report (thank you kindly Microsoft), but I hope
this helps in finding out what's wrong.
