It doesn't lock up for me in wine-1.2-rc3. I also tried it on a real Windows XP
(on the same machine). The behaviour is indeed the same as in wine, i.e. it
doesn't work on Windows either. But the error messages are slightly different.
Wine gives me:

"Invalid RS232C Port!!!"

Windows XP shows:

"RS232C Communication Error!! Check Cable or Power 0"

Apart from this it seems to be fixed!
