This bug can be reproduced with the demo version of mplus. 

Here is how to reproduce:

cd /tmp/
wget http://www.statmodel.com/download/mpdzip.exe
wine mpdzip.exe 

(click through the installer)

cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Mplus\ Demo/
touch test.inp
wine Mpdemo6.exe test.inp
