Still present in 1.2-rc3.
It turns out I can reproduce the bug 100% of the time only if I switch focus to
another window while the "Setup is extracting files" window is shown. This
causes the window that is supposed to be behind the setup window (showing the
images) to not show. I can see the window in my window list but it behaves like
it's hidden; whenever I switch to the background window nothing happens.
On the other hand, if I keep focus on the "Setup is extracting files" window
then the background window always shows up and displays images fine.

The bug thus seems to have something to do with other apps stealing focus which
causes the setup background window to be not shown even though it's actually
there.
