I don't find that an alert is required.
I simply change workspaces, usually accidentally by dragging a window and
having my cursor cross the edge of the screen. When I go back to the workspace
where wine is, the game table is gone immediately.

control 9 did work to bring it back. This is the first time I have tried that &
it worked.
