Overall I tend to degree with Sven.

Dave is making a valid point on the potential that CCP (eve) programmers are
taking shortcuts however the program is doing what it is intending to do for
windows for which it is written. 

Quoting Dave "on GNU/Linux systems it is almost imperative that software devs
use discovery routines to find out what fonts are available and where they are" 

We are talking about a program written for windows therefore should Wine not
potentially cater for this?
