My solution to this bug was to buy an nVidia card, which I did a couple years
ago. 

As evanh pointed out, EVE has also undergone numerous updates, so there's no
way to say the latest version works or not with this particular card without
testing it (which I can no longer do). 

Unless some other user has this card, I see no reason to keep the bug open.
