I tested this bug with all kernel package from the Ubuntu Kernel Team 's PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~kernel-ppa/+archive/ppa) and Pharaoh game:

2.6.34-4
2.6.34-5
2.6.35-1
2.6.35-2
2.6.35-3
2.6.35-4

All variants has same symptom, like Comment #99:

"Internal errors - invalid parameters received"

With the mainline kernel (v2.6.34-lucid) from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ everything works fine, but I
tested it only 15 minutes.

It seems this bug is very kernel sensitive.
Are you sure, that the solution is in the kernel ?
