Also confirming 2.6.32.15 does not crash (given that vcrun2005 is installed).
This certainly explains why some report everything working fine without any
changes.

I've managed to login in with 2.6.34 a couple of times so it is possible but
appears to be an extremely low chance of success. Scheduler having timing
issues perhaps?
