Believe it or not, according to

Raving Tomatoes - BASTARD needs D3DXCreateTeapot
(as well as D3DXCreateSprite and D3DXCreateSphere)

says Rock Band Drums (http://andrewrudson.com/drummachine/main.php)
needs 'em too.  Just goes to show, if you write it, people will call it.

Back in the real world, according to

Aion Online also needs D3DXCreateSphere.
