I just tested this bug in 1.1.40 with VLC 0.8.6i (the option appears to be gone
from recent versions of VLC) and I can't reproduce it from random dragging. The
only time the window disappears is when trying to drag it so that part of the
window would be beyond the edge of the screen, but this may be a window manager
bug - behavior is inconsistent between WMs and it doesn't happen in a virtual
desktop, or if "allow the window manager to control the windows" is disabled.
