I can confirm that with Kubuntu 9.10, wine 1.1.31, Stronghold2 1.4. I've copied
d3dx9_*.dll's to Stonghold's directory.
Some models (textures?) does not appear. I can't see castle, peasants, granary,
...

There were problems with 1.4 patch (I've tested different patches):
