Confirming the crash in 1.1.40, though in older versions it doesn't actually
work for me; I get a message saying "can't paste image from clipboard !"
Regardless, I did a regression test:

With this patch reverted (one hunk had to be applied manually), it's back to
the behavior of 1.1.20 - I get an error dialog instead of a crash.
