Okay, I agree.  

If it comes up again I will ask the person to collect some better information
so there is actually some thing to work with.  

My guess is this is related to the steam use of ms https which should be solved
anyway when they update their webkit version.  This may in fact be what they
did this week? It would make sense as the news window and main windows were
always the major generators of the slowdown.
