It's not that no one cares, but you can't expect other developers to drop
everything they are doing and rush to fix your favorite bug. There are more
than enough bugs to keep everybody busy.

You are the one who wants this fixed, so you are the one responsible for seeing
it through. The test case is a good start, now finish it, once it works submit
it along with the fix, and keep trying until it's accepted. Don't expect others
to do your homework for you.
