Disabling desktop effects helped and removed the KDE-Menu bar but I still get
disconnected after the logo is shown. (I am using the German server ("Die neue
Welt")

I tried a different server and was even able to create a new character. But for
some reason the screen was shown upside down. Also I noticed that the game is
not running very fast. I do not have a fast processor (Atom, 1.6 Ghz - as for
graphics I have an Intel 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller) but I
thought it to be okay for such an old game.

Wine version is 1.1.42 now on Mandriva 2010.0 Linux.
