Cannot confirm this bugreport: the game (both the demo and the retail version)
is running fine for me, using Wine-1.1.44. 
Only 'winetricks vcrun2008' was needed, and DirectX was installed automatically
during installation.
Note: since Wine-1.1.44 the 'mmdevapi=disabled' override is no longer needed.
I'm using a Nvidia card with proprietary driver 195.36.24.
