Confirming that I see this too, same output as xpmlbs albeit on a 5850. I have
a feeling this bug relates to http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21540 as I
can start TF2/Portal when I set OffScreenRendering to backbuffer. 

The fact that we're not seeing the same fglrx_dri crash might mean that it's
partially fixed in the driver now I guess :/
