I have Ubuntu 10.04 and Wine 1.3.6 and can reproduce it.

The quickcheck tool (Tools -> Start Quick check tool) has an "Image
information" button which triggers the same behaviour. The Quick check tool is
launched as a separate exe. The image info error seems to halt both
DPPViewer.exe and DPPTrimmer.exe regardless of which one the image info was
triggered from.
