OK, so patching and building the kernel turned out to be relatively
straightforward, and I can confirm that the patch seems to work fine, and I've
just transferred the run I did on Sunday from my RS800CX to Protrainer.  Thanks
for your help here Wolfram (and Wolfgang) - I hope the patch makes it into the
kernel.
