I think this is a ole32 storage problem. When the application appears to hang,
it's spending a significant amount of CPU time, and "sampling" the
application's call stack shows that it's spending a lot of time in ole32
storage functions. Using native ole32 from dcom98 seems to resolve the hang.
I've attached a +storage log for the application.
