After a long while I now discovered the problem. As it seems some firmware
package for device "isl3886pci" was removed at one point. Installing
"linux-firmware-nonfree" package with Synaptic fixed the problem for me. I had
to reboot for it to take effect. And for now this only works on i686 (32 bit of
Ubuntu 10.10 RC with wine 1.3.4) on x64 i had the same error even though i
installed the "linux-firmware-nonfree" package...
