I have managed to get the data editor to stop crashing by:

Set override for Comctl32.dll to native
replace comctl32.dll in the windows/system32 under the wineprefix with one from
windows xp. (Note, specifically XP, I tried Windows 7 one and it caused all
sorts of problems, haven't tried any other versions)

Obviously it would be preferable to find the reason behind this and fix it, but
I thought this would be helpful information towards that end.
