Reverting the patch in commit 4936e71828669ef084f9cf243f924a11a2cdce50 fixed
the issue for me. I'm using the latest GIT version of Wine.

Gentoo Linux i686
Kernel 2.6.35
nVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
nvidia-drivers 195.36.31
