Sounds related to gecko.

I'm on Ubuntu 10.04 with wine1.3 (v1.3.2) + wine1.3-gecko from ubuntu-wine/ppa
and it doesn't crash.

Whatever your distro, you can manually download the latest wine_gecko.

Don't forget AppDB where you can find what works, what does not, is there a
workaround...

NB: There is a console bug introduced recently; just type "reset" and enter to
solve it.
