I feel like an ass reopening this again but I've now installed ubuntu 10.04 to
test this on what I might call a more common setup (I guess) to make sure it's
not just my system and I'm still seeing the exact same behaviour. 

Version 1.1.28 works, 1.1.29 through 1.1.32 crash with an unhandled exception
in urlmon and everything newer than that simply refuse to render the page.

In all these cases installing ie6 makes everything seem fine since it installs
its own urlmon and friends.
