I see the same problem in Death to Spies, using Wine-1.3.26 and a Nvidia
GeForce 250 card with the latest 280.13 proprietary driver.
Characters (player and NPCs) are invisible not just in the main game but in the
cutscenes, too.

The download link for the demo is busted, here's a working one (920 MB):
