this worked just fine with wine1.3.9 (1.3.9-0ubuntu1~maverickppa1) on two
computers here. Can you confirm this with 1.3.9?

Only thing I preinstalled for my anno1404 bottle was "winetricks d3dx9" but
that does not touch ntdll.dll.

Playing Anno Venice 1.2 with wine1.3.11 (1.3.11-0ubuntu1) works like a charm as
well.
