I think at this stage, everybody is aware that circumvention of Steam will
allow Portal 2 to run. That sort of information might be helpful to people on
the appdb page (
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=23278 ) who just
want to get playing, but it isn't likely to help get this bug resolved.

On a side note, I'm glad you've gotten to play :)
