Thanks Wayne. I checked the Wine Configuration and the options you mention are
correctly set.
yes, Wine 1.3 installed flawlessly. Installed the latest Winetricks and
installed ie6 mdac28 flash OK.

Operating System is Ubuntu 11.04 Natty
Hardware : Intel Celeron processor 2.8GHz, 2GB Ram.
Graphics: None, just on-board...
