console output from starting launcher

Here's a console log from current git.
(The wineprefix is clean except for vcrun2008 and flash,
neither of which are needed to get to this point).
The screen shows a big grey square, and (if you move it with alt-click-drag)
behind it a black area with a 'sony online entertainment' logo.
Minimizing and maximizing, or clicking on, the task doesn't help.

'winetricks ie8' works around this still (though you have to then
alt-click-drag
the grey window away) and lets you log in and update your installation.
