[Bug 25256] Source based games won't start

I've done some tests about this in a machine with this specs:
proc: Intel core 2 quad q 9550 2.6 ghz
ram: 4gb ddr3
mainboard: asus p5q3
video: radeon HD 4870 1gb gddr5
3x hd western digital SATA 320gb
os: Ubuntu 10.10 x64 kernel: 2.6.32.2 with BFS and BFQ patches.
so:
Playing TF2 and Left 4 dead (wich are the only 2 games I tested yet) with
gameoverlay enabled does not crash my game. I can use overlay and chat without
any problem at all (despite bad performance on ATI cards).
Maybe is a Nvidia related problem?
