OK, I'm now running Wine 1.3.16.

I can only see the first initial page of the WordPad's CHM help file: table of
contents is shown but if you click it nothing happens, so effectively you
cannot browse this help file (except when clicking items in "Index" or "Search"
- but that's far from being convenient or useful).
