I take that back - for me, adding WINEDEBUG=warn+heap only got it to
the login screen (it crashed sooner for me without it the first try).

You don't even need a skype account to reproduce the problem,
just put in a bogus username and password.

This looks kind of nasty. 
(I wonder if it's a problem in wine's bitblt exception handling;
there's lots of blitting going on.  Or maybe it's some DRM-like layer.)
