Is it just me, or the people using the DVD version with wine are not having
this problem? Also the bug fix reported by valve was "Fixed installation issues
when using FAT 32"

Could it be that the problem is the actual download and install of the game?
Could anyone confirm this? If you've purchased the game online, could you still
use the DVD to install?
