I suspect it's an issue with fglrx and its interaction with KDE.

I am also seeing this issue with KDE 4.6, Fedora 15, Catalyst 11.4 and a HD
5850 running World of Warcraft. When I run it fullscreen and switch to a
different virtual desktop, the last frame WoW drew on the screen appears on top
of everything else.

Switching in a GTX 460 and NVIDIA driver 270.41.06, everything works fine.
