The functionning you describes is also the one I obtain for GPU-Z 0.x to
version 0.5.4 and that is the subject of the bug report 25087.

But for the 0.5.5 version, mentioned here, the application encounters a problem
during the launch and will not run. 

Are you able to run the version of 0.5.5 in the same way as previous versions ?
