Using double for the intermediary data type makes sense to me, especially if it
will make optimizations easier or automatic. Krzysztof's changes use double,
and I thiiiiiiink that resample and libresample from
<https://ccrma.stanford.edu/~jos/resample/Free_Resampling_Software.html> both
use float or double as well (their sources aren't trivial, so I'm not sure).
