I'm not sure if this is helpful but when starting pcsx2 with WINEDEBUG=warn+all
and running a game with the latest version of GSDX, I get a heap of these
messages:

warn:d3d:wined3d_device_draw_primitive Called without a valid vertex
declaration set.

This message does not appear with the older (working) versions of gsdx.
