I can't reproduce the problem with Deponia demo (German version), still
downloading the other demo to try.

Preview images for saved games are visible and I am able to load a saved game.
Tested with Wine 1.5.8 and 1.5.10

@Paul: have you actually clicked on the <Save> button on the right after you
selected a save slot?
