Thanks for double-checking. I took another look at the log, and I'm really not
seeing anything interesting. We open "default", feed it data, and it appears to
play the data. I'm not sure where it's getting lost on its way to your
speakers.

I guess my only thought is maybe there's a very high latency someplace and the
sound is too short, so it gets "cut off" before it has a chance to play. Have
you tried playing a game or some audio program (foobar2000 is free and works
well) that would play audio for more than a few seconds?
