This worked for me too.  (Thank you, thank you, thank you!  This was driving me
batty.)

My configuration:

Computer: Lenovo Ideapad N585

Video card info from lspci: 00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro
Devices [AMD] nee ATI Device 9809

OS: Ubuntu 12.10

Wine version: 1.4.1

Sketchup version: 8.0.15158
